How to play WordTap
The rules take about fifteen seconds to learn and considerably longer to master.
Green = right letter, right place · Yellow = right letter, wrong place · Grey = not in the word
- Guess a word. Type any valid 5- or 6-letter word and submit it. You have six tries in total.
- Read the colours. Each tile tells you how close that letter is, and the on-screen keyboard remembers what you have ruled out.
- Narrow it down. Reuse the green letters, move the yellow ones, and avoid everything greyed out.
- Take a hint if you need one. Hints cost coins, or an optional rewarded ad. Solving without them scores higher.
- Bank your points. Fewer guesses, faster solves, no hints and Hard mode all raise your score — and your leaderboard position.
Inside the game
Genuinely bilingual, not just translated menus
Most word games offer one language. WordTap ships two complete games in one app: an English word list and an Azerbaijani word list, each with its own answers, its own accepted-guess dictionary and its own on-screen keyboard layout — including the Azerbaijani letters ə, ğ, ı, ö, ş, ü, ç.
Every screen, button and message is localised too, so playing in Azerbaijani does not mean reading English menus. Switch between them in Settings at any time; your points, streak and statistics carry across.
Frequently asked questions
Is WordTap free to play?
Yes. WordTap is free on both the App Store and Google Play. There is no subscription and no paid unlock. Rewarded video ads are entirely optional and only appear when you choose to watch one in exchange for an extra hint.
What languages does WordTap support?
WordTap has full word lists in English and Azerbaijani, and the whole interface is translated into both languages. You can switch language at any time in Settings without losing your progress.
How do you play WordTap?
Guess the hidden 5- or 6-letter word within six tries. After each guess, every letter is colour-coded: green means the letter is correct and in the right place, yellow means the letter is in the word but somewhere else, and grey means the letter is not in the word at all. Use those clues to narrow down the answer.
Is there a new puzzle every day?
Yes. There is one daily puzzle that everyone plays, and it awards bonus points. When you have finished it you can keep playing unlimited practice rounds — WordTap does not lock you out until tomorrow.
Can I play WordTap offline?
Yes. The word lists ship inside the app, so the daily puzzle and practice rounds work with no internet connection. Only the online leaderboards and the ad-rewarded extra hints require a connection.
What is the difference between Easy and Hard mode?
In Easy mode you start each guess from a blank row. In Hard mode the letters you have already confirmed as correct carry over to the next guess, which is more demanding but earns a scoring bonus.
How do the leaderboards and leagues work?
Wins earn points based on how few guesses you used, how quickly you solved it, whether you used hints, and whether you played in Hard mode. Points feed daily, weekly and all-time leaderboards, and your weekly standing places you in a league division. Leaderboards need an internet connection.
Do I need an account to play WordTap?
No. You can play everything without signing in. Signing in with Apple or Google is optional and exists only so your progress and leaderboard entry survive if you change or reset your device. You can delete that account at any time from Settings.

WordTap is available for iPhone and iPad on the App Store, and for Android phones and tablets on Google Play.
