Privacy Policy — WordTap

This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile game WordTap ("the App", "we", "us") handles your information. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

WordTap is designed to collect as little as possible. We collect only the data needed to run the optional online leaderboard:

• Display name (username): a nickname you choose inside the game (maximum 16 characters). You provide this only if you want to appear on the leaderboard. It does not have to be your real name.
• Game scores: your total, weekly, and daily points.
• Anonymous account identifier: a random ID created by Firebase Anonymous Authentication so the App can save your scores to your own leaderboard entry. This ID is not linked to your real-world identity.

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, precise or approximate location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers. The App contains no ads and no third-party advertising or analytics tracking.

2. How we use the information

The data above is used solely to display and rank scores on the in-game leaderboard. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or any unrelated purpose, and we do not sell it.

3. Where the data is stored

Leaderboard data is stored using Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Firebase Authentication), which acts as our hosting provider. Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Google's handling of this data is governed by the Firebase Privacy and Security terms.

4. Data retention and deletion

Your leaderboard entry persists while you use the App. Because the entry is tied to an anonymous identifier and an optional nickname, it contains no personal identity. To request deletion of your leaderboard entry, contact us at the email below and we will remove it.

5. Children's privacy

WordTap is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The only stored data is a self-chosen nickname and game scores.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
